How did I miss this one coming up? One of my favourite TV cooking shows is Food Safari, with host Maeve O'Meara travelling to the homes and kitchens of some of Australia's best chefs and home cooks.
Every week she tries a different cuisine by talking and cooking with Australians who have a heritage of the culture she's investigating. The recipes are very authentic and her friendliness with the cooks is fun. These are normal people cooking food they've grown up with, food they love, and it shows when we watch them prepare and eat it.
We've made several of the things featured in other seasons and while some of it doesn't turn out quite the way it does on the show, it's always fun
Airing on SBS at 7:30pm Wednesdays, it started last week with a South American episode. Keep an eye on http://www.sbs.com.au/food/foodsafari for more information. _________________ “Blessed are the Cheese Makers!” - Jesus, in the Life of Brian |
