I remember going to Kimchi Grandmother restaurant with a friend a couple of years ago, it's in Carnegie as well, funnily enough. It was great, lots of 'kimchi' and lots of tasty small courses. I must say I haven't been to many other Korean places, down here near Geelong I don't even think there are any.
BTW you can leave a review for the Korean BBQ here. _________________ “Blessed are the Cheese Makers!” - Jesus, in the Life of Brian |

| Kimchi Grandmother restaurant is my fav Korean restaurant in Melbourne too. I've been to about three different ones in Melbourne's CBD, names not worth mentioning, and one in Sydney and one in East Bentleigh. Kimchi Grandmother is by far the best. The dishes very plentiful, tasted delicious and interesting and everything was fresh. The service was great too. I wasn't the only one impressed judging by the full house when I was there last. |

My main problem with korean food here is just that they are not authentic enough.
The kimchi is a little too sour to my liking and the variety is really lacking. Ginseng is just too light. _________________ http://www.melbournefoodforum.com

One interesting thing about eating at a korean restaurant that tends to surprise non-korean people, is that the guest generally calls the waiter/waitress to come to the table whenever something is needed. We just raise our voice slightly and say, "yuh-gi-yo" or "juh-gi-yo" (both have the same effect), and the waiter or waitress will come to your table.
