My friends and I decided to give this restaurant a try on Saturday night. I have to say, my first impressions of the place were not very good. From outside, the restaurant emitted a foul odour. The smell became more apparent after entering as it could be smelt wafting through the restaurant. Upon entering, we were approached by a waitress dressed in traditional German attire. She could barely speak a word of English, but that wasn't because she was German - far from it in fact. We asked if there were any tables free. Apparently there were as we were guided to a table at the back of the restaurant where we were ordered (yes, ordered) to sit down.

The menus were bound in tacky display folders and there weren't enough of them to go around, so we had to share between two people. Prior to visiting the restaurant, I had browsed the menu on their website and decided upon the Chicken Cordon Bleu. The website menu did not include prices and, after opening the menu to find an array of overpriced dishes, I could see why. The Cordon Bleu was priced at $28.90 and served with nothing more than fried potatoes. From the image of this dish presented on their website, it looked little more than the Cordon Bleu one would find in a box in the supermarket freezer for a sixth of the price. Unfortunately I am unable to comment on the taste of the dish because of what happened next...

After having only about five minutes to browse the menu, we were approached by the waitress again. From what I could gather she had assigned us to a table that had already been booked and the people who had booked it had now arrived. She essentially told us that we had to go outside - that's right, she kicked us out. We were very swiftly escorted from the restaurant, left dazed and confused as to what exactly had just occurred. We were gob smacked.

All I can say about Black Forest is that the service in this place is absolutely appalling. If they can't appropriately manage table bookings, then I'd hate to see how they manage in the kitchen. I would strongly recommend steering clear of this place. Spend your money somewhere else where you'll be treated like a person.
